This month has been a busy one for Tikit Support. ISO 9001 preparation, new ideas, volunteering and plenty more lessons learned. Oh, and we were selected as the SDI’s Service Desk of the Month!
ISO 9001 Preparation for our global support desks
This month has consisted of full blown ISO 9001 prep ready for the three audits of our UK, North America and Australia support desks. The UK audit was completed last week but the results won’t be confirmed until the audits for our global offices have been finalised. Keep an eye out for an announcement in the coming week!
Lucy in our Applications team came up with a great idea to produce a monthly Support fact sheet. This shows key performance stats and some fun facts about the department. I’ve been involved in this project, learning how to use Adobe InDesign to create it. The fact sheet will be published at the beginning of every month and the first one is available to view here so go check it out.
Tikit is selected as the SDI Service Desk of the Month
The Tikit Support Desk was selected as the Service Desk Institute’s ‘Service Desk of the month’ for October! We enjoyed answering the questions for the article, which you can view here, especially which celebrity we’d like to work on our service desk. There were lots of suggestions but some of the reasons given were slightly inappropriate for publishing! We also had the opportunity to share the most bizarre support moment the team has ever experienced. Take a look at the article to read what this was.
Stand up to Cancer charity campaign
Alex Williams, a Senior Accounts Analyst in Support, went to the BT Tower on Friday 21st October to help with the ‘Stand up to Cancer’ charity campaign. BT was the lead sponsor for this and they were keen for employees to take part. Alex was involved in answering the phone and taking people’s donations.
Important lessons learnt this month:
People are keen to attend a social event if it involves unlimited food! Nearly every member of the UK Support team went out for a meal at the start of the month for an ‘all you can eat’ Chinese buffet.
Try and bump into one of the senior leadership team when going out for lunch at the local deli as you may be lucky enough to get bought a cake. Thanks Simon and Mark for roping Miles into doing that!
There is a new movement sweeping through Support. ‘Dress up Monday’ has captured the imagination of my male colleagues who are now wearing shirt and tie combinations every Monday. I fully expect this new trend to go viral #dressupmonday
