Confessions of a Placement Student: November
November has been a busy month! We’ve had a desert trek, an award ceremony, a sell-out user group (NUG) and even my first trip to BT HQ in London!
As mentioned in my last blog, Hayley completed her charity trek in Oman earlier this month. Hayley had lots of fun despite spending most of the week impersonating a mountain goat as she scaled the steep mountain terrain of Oman. I’m told that, after eating a tarantula, Giovanna Fletcher’s group won the inter-team competition. In total they have raised over £220,000 for CoppaFeel. We are all very proud of what Hayley has achieved.
Last week I spent a day at the BT Centre in London attending a training course. Whilst visiting I was given a tour of the auditorium, TV/filming studio and Tikit’s office space. It was lovely to finally meet some of my colleagues based at BT Centre, whilst sampling a taste of the London lifestyle.
Exciting news! We won Supplier of the Year (SME and Mid-Market) at the British Legal Technology awards this month! Katherine Ainley, Simon Elven and Miles Osborne all attended the award ceremony where they proudly collected the award on behalf of Tikit. It really was a team effort and we’re delighted to have been chosen as the winner of the award.
Feature of the month: Tikit’s P4W National User Group
This month we held our annual P4W National User Group Conference (NUG) at the BT Centre in London. The conference allows our clients to learn about P4W’s latest features and our roadmap for the year ahead. Clients can network with Tikit staff and our other integration partners.
The hot topic of the moment and the theme for this year’s NUG was GDPR. There were two interesting key note speeches lead by Jane Pritchard, the P4W User Group Chair, and Rich Dibbins from Conscious Solutions.
Each day workshops and interactive sessions were held to showcase the capabilities and new functionality of Tikit’s core products and partner products.
The NUG isn’t all work and no play though. In the evening, delegates enjoyed dinner and late night drinks at the Mondrian Hotel, dancing the night away to a live rock band!
We also held Partner Bingo, encouraging attendees to collect a sticker from each of our sponsors to fill their Bingo cards. Those with completed Bingo cards were entered into our exclusive NUG prize draw. Keelie Loftus from Whitehead Monkton & Co was the lucky winner who got her hands on a Fitbit Iconic! Well done Keelie!
If you missed the NUG this year don’t worry, you can see all of the action here. And remember, this is an annual event so make sure you sign up next year!
