Confessions of a Placement Student: January

January is here – the festive period seemed to fly by and suddenly we’re a whole month into 2018!  Somehow I’m also nearly halfway through my time at Tikit as a Placement student.

Big news for the start of 2018!  Simon Hill took over from Katherine Ainley as CEO of Tikit with effect from 1st January. Simon has been with Tikit for 10 years having previously been the Managing Director of TFB plc before the two companies merged.  He’s the director that the Support team report to so we’re thrilled for him and excited for the future.  Katherine is taking on an expanded role within the same division as Tikit.  We all wish her well with her new projects.

Just before Christmas we welcomed Lee to our Support team. He will work alongside Paul to provide you with assistance on Carpe Diem. Lee has settled in well to his new role and is already resolving your time related issues.

For January we have launched a 10K virtual run in support of Naomi House, a local Children’s Hospice based near to our Fareham office.  A virtual run is the perfect way to start the year by giving to charity and keeping active. All you need to do is walk, jog or run 10K over the course of January.  You can do it in one go or break it up over multiple days.  Everyone who completes the 10K distance will receive an exclusive P4W medal!  For further details please take a look here. I’m taking part and hope you will too!

Feature of the month: ISO 9001 Success!

Since 2009 Tikit’s Support team has been ISO 9001:2008 certified. The core principles of ISO 9001 include customer focus, leadership, people involvement and continual improvement. Each year the Support department is externally audited to determine if we are following the defined processes correctly and achieving the required standard.

Last month we had our annual audit and once again our processes and procedures were rigorously inspected.  After a busy two days the auditor confirmed that he would be recommending us to be re-certified for the year ahead.  This is a great achievement for Support and the whole team plays a part in ensuring our success.

We can’t be complacent though; it’s full steam ahead to gain ISO 9001:2015 certification this summer.  This updated version of ISO 9001 is heavily influenced by risk management and business strategy.  It’ll be a challenge but we’re already looking forward to the journey ahead.
