London – March 3, 2016 Tikit is delighted to announce that Gareth Tipton, BT Group Director Ethics & Compliance and Legal COO at BT Legal will be speaking at the British Legal Technology Forum 2016.
Gareth will be examining what in-house legal teams will look like in 2020 and investigating how, in an age of ever increasing technological advancements, soft skills or rather emotional intelligence will affect employee’s ability to influence in the future. He will talk delegates through automation and how this will change every day routine and job requirements for many legal teams. He will then look at how in-house legal departments will be virtualised as we edge closer towards an entirely paperless, digital working environment.
BT Legal use Tikit’s practice and case management software in-house. Gareth said that “Tikit Partner for Windows (P4W) is bringing many new possibilities and driving competitive advantage for both our in-house claims management team and also our ABS law firm, BT Law Ltd. We are correspondingly progressing the use of P4W across our shared services commercial unit and other relevant legal disciplines including our employment, litigation and competition teams.”
He went on to say that “Once all legal teams are using P4W efficiently, this will create a single platform to manage our legal caseload and related case documentation, allowing BT Legal to deliver advanced, proficient legal services to our internal customers and meet our external customer requirements in a holistic manner”
BT Legal is not only the largest in-house legal team using Tikit P4W, it is also one of the largest in-house teams in the country, with over 400 users.
Gareth’s talk will draw on his experience of managing such a large department and look at trends that we can expect to see in the future.
