The Diary of a Placement Student: November
November saw me bed bound with tonsillitis for a week but somehow the office managed to survive without me…
The big news of the month is that Tikit Support has gained ISO 9001:2008 accreditation for their global IP Support offices for the first time! This is in addition to the existing UK certification which we’ve held since 2009. Our processes were audited extensively by an external auditor who I hear was very impressed. You can read the full article about this here.
In other news…
The National User Group took place this month with Miles Osborne, Hayley Biddlecombe, Alan Baker and Reuben Manning attending on behalf of Support. It’s great that the team are able to send some representatives to this annual event. It gives them a chance to catch up with our clients and put some faces to names. There’s some pictures from the event below so check them out.
Becky and Miles attended a BT Pioneers course at the end of November. The course focuses on developing leadership and is designed to inspire and empower through coaching and mentoring. I look forward to testing their new found knowledge!
The Support office have organised a Secret Santa which I’m excited about as I love all things Christmas. I can’t wait to see the kinds of gifts people receive as I’m sure there will be some funny and some utterly clueless presents exchanged.
Important Lessons learnt this month:
Free food (I seem to always mention food) cannot and should not be turned down. The Support team were taken out for a slap-up meal at TGI Fridays to celebrate our ISO success. Cheers!
England is not that cold. After spending a long weekend in Norway this month, with temperatures reaching -5°, I won’t be moaning about the weather here again.
If I injure myself at my desk whilst performing any of my daily tasks I know I’ll be in safe hands as Alex Williams has re-qualified as a St. John Ambulance First Aider. I understand he specialises in applying blister plasters which may come in handy at our office Christmas party next month.
