Blog: Upskill in Lockdown – Week 4 of Isolation

Week 4 of Isolation

Wow, we’ve almost made it to week 4! We’ve clapped for all the amazing key workers out there and their hard work, especially the NHS staff and Tikit have donated £2000 to the NHS Charities COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.

I hope everyone’s looking forward to a lovely long weekend and gets lots of Easter eggs! I know I certainly plan on eating too much chocolate (what else is there to do). Aside from the tonne of chocolate you’ll be consuming over the weekend, I hope you are all staying healthy, physically and mentally.

We have another fantastic training session that will stimulate your brain and help you to make your documents look more professional. I’m sure you’ve all seen our  Top 10 Tips for Microsoft Outlook and Word by now – well, this week’s episode we will delve into how to make your Word document do the work for you and make your documents look perfectly presentable with our Top 10 Tips for amending and styling Word documents. Impress your clients, boss and even your colleagues with our quick and easy hacks. We’ll be showing you everything from headings and inserting a table of contents that automatically populates with your headings, to creating and applying paragraph styles.

You may be thinking, why would I need this right now? Well, you might not need it right this second but when this is all over, and you need to make a really polished and professional document for an important client or report, you’ll be kicking yourself for not sparing that half an hour of your day whilst in isolation.

What we will cover:

  • Working with heading styles
  • Amending heading styles
  • Inserting and amending a Table of Contents based on heading styles
  • Creating a paragraph style
  • Applying paragraph styles
  • Using the Format Painter
  • Using the Styles pane
  • Using Advanced Find to find where styles have been used in a document
  • Working in Draft view and showing the Styles pane

This free training session will be held on Tuesday 21st April 2020 at 2pm (BST). If you are unable to attend at this time, you can sign up and we will send you a link to the recording of the session.
